1. Scientists grow a whole model of a human embryo without sperm or egg
- Scientists have grown a model that looks much like an early human embryo without using sperm, eggs or a womb.
- The Weizmann Institute team says their embryo model, made using stem cells, looks like a textbook example of a real 14-day-old embryo. It even released hormones that tested positive for a pregnancy test.
- The goal of embryo models is to provide a humane way of understanding the earliest moments of our lives.

2. Ukraine war: 17 killed during attack on market
- President Zelensky has condemned a "deliberate" attack on Kostyantynivka.
- At least 17 people were killed in the blast, which took place on a busy market street in the middle of the day.
- Videos on social media show a bright explosion at the far end of a street where people were out shopping. Russia has not commented on the attack.

3. Enrique Tarrio jailed for 22 years for Capitol riot
- The Proud Boy's former leader Enrique Tarrio has been jailed for 22 years for the attack on the US Capitol on 6 January 2021.
- It is the longest sentence handed down so far over the attack, which happened as lawmakers were certifying President Joe Biden's 2020 election victory.
- Tarrio was not in Washington during the riot, but helped organise the group's involvement.
