1. Japan forced to destroy flagship H3 rocket in failed launch

- Japan was forced to blow up its new rocket during a failed launch on Tuesday, setting back efforts to crack a market led by Elon Musk's SpaceX.

- Its space agency had to send a self-destruct command to the H3 rocket when its second-stage engine failed minutes after lift-off.

- Observers say it is a significant setback for Japan's Aerospace Exploration Agency (Jaxa).

- The government called the test failure "extremely regrettable".

2. Kidnapped Americans were in Mexico for tummy tuck

- Four Americans kidnapped by heavily armed men in Matamoros, Mexico, had travelled there for cosmetic surgery, relatives told US media.

- One of them was to have a tummy tuck - removing abdominal fat - in a border town, said the sister of one of them.

- A Mexican woman was killed in the incident.

- The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for the return of the Americans.

3. Atlanta 'Cop City': Terror charges filed against 23 protesters

- Georgia police have filed terror charges against 23 protesters accused of attacking police officers at an event against a planned police training site.

- Police say the group left the larger protest to throw large rocks, bricks, Molotov cocktails, and fireworks" at officers and construction equipment.

- The planned training centre in Atlanta has been dubbed "Cop City" by critics.
