- The body admitted tax cuts announced by Kwasi Kwarteng ould lift economic growth in the short-term.
- Inflation is expected to peak at about 11.3% before the end of the year in the UK, according to its latest report on the outlook for the global economy.

2. Hong Kong declines to act on a sanctioned Russian superyacht in harbour
- Hong Kong has said it will not seize the superyacht of a Russian oligarch who is under Western sanctions.
- Chief executive John Lee said Hong Kong would be accountable to UN sanctions but not unilateral ones imposed by individual jurisdictions.
- The $521M boat belongs to Alexei Mordashov, an ally of Russia's President Vladimir Putin and one of the country's richest men.

3. California governor's wife amongst accusers at Weinstein sex crimes trial
- Jennifer Newsom, a documentary filmmaker and actor who is married to California governor Gavin Newsom, is among the accusers of Harvey Weinstein who will testify at his rape and sexual assault trial that began Monday.
- Weinsten has pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of rape and sexual assault involving Newsom and 4 other women. All of them will testify as Jane Doe during the 8-week trial in a Los Angeles court.
- The Associated Press does not normally name people who say they've been sexually abused, but Newsom agreed to be named through her attorney.
