1. Thai nursery attack: The story of the 3-year-old survivor

- 3-year-old Emmy was napping next to her best friend at a day-care centre in northern Thailand when the attacker broke in, armed with a gun and a knife.

- Witnesses say he first shot staff, including a teacher who was eight months pregnant, before forcing his way into each of the three kindergarten classrooms, murdering all of Emmy's friends as they slept.

- It is unclear how she survived. She was found awake, curled up next to the bodies of her classmates. Rescuers took Emmy to the 2nd floor to shield her from the horror.

- She is the only child to live through the massacre.

2. Crimea bridge: Russia says 3 killed by explosion

- A huge blast on Russia's bridge to Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula it annexed in 2014, has killed 3 people.

- The victims were in a nearby car when a lorry blew up, bringing down sections of the bridge's roadway.

- The rail and road crossing opened in 2018 and was a symbol of Russia's illegal annexation.

3. Cresslough: 10 dead after Donegal explosion

- 10 people have died after a huge explosion at a petrol station in County Donegal.

- The explosion happened at an Applegreen service station in the village of Creeslough on Friday afternoon.

- 8 people are in hospital, one is critically ill. Police say their information so far pointed towards a tragic accident.
