1. Putin reveals China's concern over Ukraine

- Putin has acknowledged China's concern over Ukraine, in his first face-to-face talks with President Xi Jinping since the Russian invasion.

- Putin also thanked China for its balanced position and said US attempts to create a unipolar world would fail.

- Mr Xi said China was willing to work together with Russia as great powers.

2. Roger Federer to retire after Laver Cup in September

- Roger Federer, one of the greatest players of all time, will retire from top level tennis after the Laver Cup in London this month.

- The 20-time Grand Slam champion has not played since Wimbledon 2021, after which he had a third knee operation.

- He said: "To the game of tennis, I love you and will never leave you".

3. New Zealand bodies in suitcase: Woman arrested in South Korea over children's deaths

- South Korean police say they have arrested a woman accused of murdering her two children who were found in suitcases in New Zealand last month.

- The bodies were believed to have been stored for a few years. Korean police said the victims were aged 7 and 10.

- The children's bodies were discovered in early August after a separate family bought a trailer-load of goods, including the suitcases, in an online auction.
