1. Switching to renewable energy could save trillions - study
- Switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy could save the world as much as $12tn by 2050, an Oxford University study says.
- The report said it was wrong and pessimistic to claim that moving quickly towards cleaner energy sources was expensive.

2. Ukraine war: We've retaken 6000 sq km from Russia, says Zelensky

- Zelensky said troops have now retaken more than 6000 sq km from Russian control in September, in the east and the south.

- Film directore Godard, who spearheaded the revolutionary French New Wave of cinema, has died at 91.
- A family representative said he died by assisted suicide in Switzerland.
- Assisted suicide is legal in Switzerland in some situations.
